In the area

Nestled in the southern end of the Coastal Mountain range, Whistler is the epitome of an all-season destination. Located just 2 hours north of Vancouver, in winter it is a true wonderland, offering not only world class skiing and snowboarding, but a whole host of other activities such as snowmobiling and ice skating. In summer, the snow may have melted but the lively atmosphere remains as visitors come to hike and bike the mountain trails, zipline through the trees, paddle in the lakes or join bear viewing tours.

The hub of Whistler is a compact, chalet-style pedestrian village at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains and has the perfect mix of world-class and home-grown local shops; you'll find clothing, art, souvenirs and everything in between. The dining experiences are an adventure as laidback après, exquisite fine dining, authentic pubs and street food all vie for attention in this mountain town. Visitors looking for art and culture will also find plenty here, with the Squamish Lil’wat Culture Centre and the Audain Art Museum both a scenic stroll from the village centre.
