Itinerary

Day 1 Fly to Halifax

Welcome to Halifax, Nova Scotia, a city that deftly blends the past with the present! The heart of Halifax is perfect for exploring on foot! It's also a great place to base yourself and take diverse daytrips. Why not explore the city, enjoy your first fresh seafood of the trip and rest up for the night at your hotel.

Day 2 Halifax to Lunenburg (75km)

This is the beginning of your adventure! Collect your motorhome and drive along the Lighthouse Route while taking in majestic coastal scenery to the fishing community of Peggy’s Cove.This picture-postcard village, located on rugged Atlantic shoreline, stands on solid rock above the crashing surf, and its lighthouse is the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Explore the rocks, the trails, the village and the gift shops. Continue on the Lighthouse Route through Western Shore to Martin's River, where an attractive shoreline park offers superb views of the bay and its islands. Overnight in Lunenburg.

Day 3 Lunenburg

While in Lunenburg, you’ll get a chance to visit 2 UNESCO world heritage sites – Landscape of Grand Pre and Old Town Lunenburg. Why not also Join a kilted guide in “New Scotland” for an enchanting tour of the city and Mahone Bay.  The area gives you lots of opportunity for adventures — whether on the waters of the bay of many islands (365 to be exact), along the rugged beauty of the coastlines on un-crowded beaches, or along many pristine walking and cycling trails! Enjoy locally sourced gourmet food, award-winning wines and lively music. Overnight in Lunenburg.

Day 4 Lunenburg to Yarmouth (226km)

On your way, explore towns like Liverpool along the majestic coastal scenery, all the way to Yarmouth's towering Cape Forchu light.The southwestern tip of Nova Scotia is a region renowned for its Acadian roots, colourful fishing villages and towering churches – and of course some of the freshest seafood around.

Day 5 Yarmouth

Yarmouth is the hub of this area and is a great stopping point for hiking, fishing and seafaring adventures, while cultural enthusiasts can discover a bounty of local music, theatre, crafts, museums, galleries and, historic architecture.

Day 6 Yarmouth to Digby/Bay of Fundy (105km)

Drive along the shore and admire the Bay of Fundy, world-famous for its extreme tides. The world’s highest tides carve the dramatic cliffs and caves that paint the Bay of Fundy coastline. This area also has its local wine industry and not surprisingly, fresh local seafood, including lobster. It’s a great part of the province to get off the beaten path and find an unexpected discovery. Why not take a Brier Island Whale and Seabird Cruise, where you have a chance to see many species including: humpbacks, fin and the rare and endangered right whales, as well as dolphins, porpoises and seabirds!

Day 7 Digby to Kejimkujik National Park (65km)

If you ask a Nova Scotian for advice on a place to get away from it all – a place with lush forests, meandering rivers and island-dotted lakes – you’ll likely hear the name “Keji” again and again. Kejimkujik National Park  Is truly a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the world and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Nova Scotia. spend the day enjoying all that the National Park offers from canoeing to hiking to cycling. The park has an abundance of wildlife to spot as well!

Day 8 Digby/ Kejimkujik National Park to Truro (296km)

Today, you are heading to Truro, Known as the “Hub of Nova Scotia”. Its historic downtown is thriving with unique shops and dining such as Nova Scotia Emporium or Stanfield's Factory Outlet. On your way, why not make a stop at the Fort Anne National Historic Site and the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens? The area is also famous for its wine!  A few minutes from town is the Masstown Market where visitors are sure to find a culinary favorite in the onsite bakery, deli, dairy bar, fish market, farm market, fish and chip boat, or cafeteria-style restaurant that serves up local homemade meals. If you are looking for an adventure, book a Tidal bore rafting tour!

Day 9 Truro to Halifax (95km)

Today is your last chance to enjoy the delights Nova Scotia has to offer before dropping your motorhome back in Halifax and flying back home. Why not make a stop in Waverley-Salmon River Long Lake Wilderness Area located close to Halifax and go for a last hike on one of the many trails and loops in the region.
