Day 1 Arrival in Halifax

From Halifax International Airport you will transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Pick-up your Canada Roadbook at the front desk as you check-in. Remainder of the day is at leisure for exploring this bustling ocean side city.

Day 2 Halifax

Halifax is located on one of the world's largest natural harbours and bears all the hallmarks of both a modern and historic city. Visit the Citadel that has guarded the city since the 18thcentury, the Public Gardens or sail on a harbour cruise aboard the Bluenose II.

Day 3 Halifax to Bridgewater (110km)

Drive along the Lighthouse Route to the fishing community of Peggys Cove. Continue along the coast and stop in the port of Lunenburg for a visit to the renowned Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic before arriving in Bridgewater.

Day 4 Bridgewater to Kejimkujik National Park/ Digby (180km)

Take the scenic, cross-country drive linking the rocky south shore with the lush Annapolis Valley. Explore the wilderness of Kejimkujik National Park along the centuries-old Mikmaq canoe routes or follow the hiking trails into its forested heartland.

Day 5 Digby

Explore this picture-postcard fishing port with its bustling harbour, home to the largest scallop fishing fleet in the world. Digby is located beautifully on the Annapolis Basin, overlooking Digby channel, where the waters of the Basin flow into the Bay of Fundy.

Day 6 Digby to Fredericton (95 km)

Enjoy a ferry ride across the Bay of Fundy to Saint John, famous for having the world’s largest tides. The Bay of Fundy is rich in marine life, often seen along its rocky shores at low tide.
Please note the ferry between Digby, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick is not included, this must be paid locally.

Day 7 Fredericton to Moncton (250 km)

Today you can explore popular covered bridges en route to Fundy National Park. Discover Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, or visit Shediac, the lobster capital of the world, where you can experience lobster at its best.

Day 8 Moncton to Charlottetown (160 km)

The Northumberland coast of New Brunswick has a rich British and Acadian heritage - it's yours to discover today. Cross to Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province, over the Confederation Bridge and arrive in the charming city of Charlottetown, the Birthplace of Canadian Confederation.

Day 9 Charlottetown

Charlottetown is the hub of tourist activity on the island. After taking in a cultural festival, shopping for local crafts, or enjoying a lobster dinner; visitors often enjoy strolling the tree-lines streets to marvel at the colourful Victorian architecture or sitting at the harbour's edge watching sails boats idly pass by.

Day 10 Charlottetown to Baddeck (285 km)

Todays journey takes you past Orwell Corner Historic Site to board the ferry across the Northumberland Strait to Nova Scotia. Continue into Cape Breton Island through the magnificent highland scenery that surrounds Bras dOr Lake, and drive to the delightful resort community of Baddeck.
Please note the ferry between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia is not included, this must be paid locally.

Day 11 Baddeck

A scenic highlight of this trip is to drive the Cabot Trail into the highlands of northern Cape Breton. The trail runs past lochs and glens settled by Scottish Highlanders and along scenic coastlines settled by Acadians. Return to Baddeck through the lush Margaree Valley.

Day 12 Baddeck to Corner Brook (280 km)

A scenic ferry crossing between North Sydney and Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland starts your day. As the ferry sails across the Cabot Strait, keep a close watch for whales and dolphins. Coastal barrens and forested mountains dominate the first impressions of Newfoundland’s landscape. The best way to experience the rugged beauty of the wave-pounded coast is by hiking some of the excellent nature trails en route to Corner Brook. Overnight in Corner Brook.

Day 13 Corner Brook / Gros Morne National Park

Explore Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can hike the trails to the summit of Gros Morne Mountain, admire the sweeping views of the Tablelands and enjoy the serenity of fishing villages enclosed by towering cliffs and steep fjords.

Day 14 Croner Brook to Gander (300 km)

Today, drive east through a landscape covered with woodlands . Visit historic sites and learn about the Beothuks, a now-extinct people who once inhabited the island. Then head for the Kittiwake Coast, where dense forests give way to fabulous seascapes of inlets, coves and islands.

Day 15 Gander

Gander has a rich aviation history. Take some time today and learn more during a visit to the North Atlantic Aviation Museum

Day 16 Gander to Terra Nova National Park / Clarenville (150 km)

En route to Clarenville, you will experience the tranquillity and beauty of Terra Nova National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for moose, black bears and foxes. Enjoy a hike into the marshes and forests of the interior.

Day 17 Clarenville to St. John's (190 km)

A scenic drive along the Trans-Canada Highway brings you to St. Johns. Travel along Conception Bay where the air of piracy and tall ships still lingers. Continue to St. Johns, the provincial capital, where colourful streets compete with the natural beauty of the surrounding hills.

Day 18 St. John's

Today you can explore the city of St. Johns and the surrounding area. Wander through the steep narrow streets of the old city and walk up to take in the view from Signal Hill National Historic Site. See the many historic buildings and unique architecture of downtown St. John’s Take in some live music and enjoy some fresh local seafood.

Day 19 Ferry / St.John's to Sydney (130 km)

Bid farewell to Newfoundland and cross the Avalon Peninsula to catch the ferry. Enjoy a cruise on the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 20 Sydney to Halifax / End of Tour (445 km)

Disembark in North Sydney in the morning. Drive back to Halifax Airport where you can commence your journey home.
